So after months of waiting to hear the road ahead regarding COVID-19 lockdown etc, we have now had the announcement that campsites should be able to reopen as of the 12th April. This does mean that we have got to change our plans as we had booked a site for the Easter break on the off-chance that restrictions would have ended earlier.
When looking for sites to visit one of us can be very picky with the facilities offered on site! We often visit on recommendation from others, this was one of the reasons we started this blog to share our experiences with you. Our first planned visit this year is to Somerswood Caravan Park after seeing videos from Here We Tow and Bob and Jenny Earnshaw. When we visit shared facilities will not be open due to Government regulations, when originally booking we didn’t go for a serviced pitch however after a lot of talking we made the decision to upgrade pitch. Angela from the site answered our email quickly and was more than happy to help.
After making plans for our summer holiday and linking in with some work commitments we joined the Caravan and Motorhome Club to allow us to book sites without having to commit hundreds of pounds in deposits for the year. We have booked to visit a number of sites during the year including Clumber Park near Worsop and Sandringham Estate. These sites are located under 2 hours from home and will hopefully provide great little get aways. We look forward to being able to review these sites for our blog as well.
