Our Stay
Despite the site being full due to it being the May Bank Holiday Weekend this was a quiet and relaxing stay. As with all other Tranquil Parks, Somers Wood is adult only. We arrived at around 18:15 after finishing work and negotiating a closure on the A14! Having stayed on the site for three nights we would definitely recommend this site those those visiting the area.
Location / Access
Located a few minutes away from the M42/M6 interchange, the site is easy to access when towing a caravan. Follow signage for Stonebridge Golf Club (located next to the site).
The site has a security gate that opens outwards (make sure you stop at the stop line). While reception is open the gate will open automatically, to exit the park you will receive a pin code.

The Site
Comprising of 48 pitches the site is layed out in a large oval with pitches in the centre and outside. Being a woods the site has lots of trees, however none of these cover the pitches and provide great surroundings.
Due to the COVID-19, we booked a fully serviced pitch located at number 35. This pitch is towards to top of the site with its own water tap, grey waste drain and electric point. We used our new Colapz Fresh Mini and Colapz Waste Pipes to connect up making it easy to have showers in the caravan.

Like the rest of the pitches on the site it was very flat meaning there was no need for leveling chocks or wedges.

In the centre of the site is the newly refurbished facilities block. Unfortunately, because of the restrictions at the time this block was closed, so we were unable to check them out. However videos and photos of the refurbishment can be seen on the sites social media accounts.

In the area
Located next to the site is Stonebridge Golf Club that is available to non-members including in the clubhouse. The village of Meriden has a range of shops including a Co-Op and Pharmacy. There are also fish and chips, Indian and Chinese takeaways.

The site is ideally located for events at the NEC being only a 6 minute drive. During our stay we visited 3 National Trust properties Baddesley Clinton, Packwood and Charlecote Park. Warwick and Kenilworth Castles are also easily accessible.
