Our visit
We visited Chedworth as part of part 2 of our Summer 2021 tour in the Cotswolds, (18 miles from Moreton-in-marsh CAMC Site. Having visited many National Trust properties before it was unusual to not have a grand mansion to greet us as we arrived at the property, instead a reasonably sized cottage appears in front of you. This is infact a house built during the Victorian period with the influence of James Farrer, a local MP. Used as a shooting lodge, it was later used to house artefacts discovered and for the custodian of the site. Now the building houses a small museum of artefacts and National Trust offices.

There is a large building towards the top of the site. This building is covering a number of extraordinary Roman archeology. This includes a bath homes that is amazingly well preserved.

Interesting Fact
There are many Roman artefacts still in the ground around the site. These have been researched by archaeologists and recorded but are best preserved currently by being kept under the soil.
Worth knowing
There is a small cafe on site with a limited amount of seating, however we took a picnic to have as there are many picnic benches and open areas to sit.
