Our Stay

We stayed at Merrose Farm at the start of our Cornwall 2022 tour in Summer holiday (August 2022).

Location / Access

The Merrose Club Site is located on the Roseland Peninsula, an area of outstanding natural beauty, are limited safe routes to get to the site. We strongly suggest you follow the Club’s guidance (click here) and access map.

Directions

The below route guidance is based on information from the Caravan and Motorhome Club website and our own experience.

Turn left off the A30 (Bodmin – Redruth) at Fraddon onto the B3275 (signposted Ladock). In 7.25 miles at the T-junction turn right. In about 0.25 miles turn left onto the A390 (signposted St Austell). In about 1 mile turn right onto A3078 (signposted Tregony, St Mawes). Remain on the A3078 and do not follow SATNAV if it suggests taking a turning to the left on a right hand bend, this route is not suitable for towing vehicles. In 9.5 miles (0.75 mile past Pendower Beach sign) turn right at the Club sign into the narrow road to site.

Traffic in and out of the site is controlled by traffic lights (which are on a 2 minute timer). If travelling on the A390 from St Austell, continue to the A3078, then as above. Do not use the B3287 as this is not suitable for towing nor wide vehicles.

The Site

The site Merrose Site is set out in three main areas. The first consisting of hardstanding pitches in arch shapes. The next section is a glass pitch field that includes the sites dog walk area and play park. The final area is a mixture of hardstanding and grass pitches many of which are under large trees.

There are two facilities blocks on the site, however they are located right next to each other. The facilities are central to the site and are to the normal Caravan and Motorhome Club standard. The right hand block did seem slightly more modern in its fixtures.

In the area

Merrose Farm is ideally located for exploring the Roseland Peninsula and further afield, near by attractions include St Mawes (small seaside village with ferry link to Falmouth, the Eden Project (St Austell) and many local beaches (Portscatho the nearest).
