Our Stay
We stayed at Ashridge Farm in January 2023, this was our first trip out in our new Elddis Affinity Caravan one of the main reasons for the stay was to check out all of the features of the caravan as well as having time away for Michael’s birthday.
Location
The Ashridge Farm site is located in the village of Ashwell in Hertfordshire, close to the town of Baldock.

Directions
The below route guidance is based on information from the Caravan and Motorhome Club website and our own experience
Only use the recommended directions for the final approach to the site and not sat nav, as this leads you through the village with very narrow roads which are unsuitable for towing. Leave the A1(M) at junction 9 onto the A505 (signposted Royston). Then follow the signpost Royston onto Baldock Bypass. Do not turn off the first left (signposted Ashwell), this is a narrow bumpy road. In about 2.5 miles turn left at the second signpost Ashwell, Steeple Morden, Station. Take care when leaving the dual carriage way as there is only a short slip road. Follow the road past the train station and then within 0.25 miles turn left into the road signposted Ashwell. The turning onto the site road is on the right in 1.5 miles. This is a narrow lane entrance road that has a number of pot holes. The site is located along the lane on the left.

The Site
This is a very small site with only 39 pitches (25 hardstanding) set out in an oval shape. Some grass pitches are located next to the entrance (outside of the security barrier). The Ashridge Farm site also has a large storage compound attached. However, most pitches are located away from its entrance.

In the area
The village of Ashwell is located between the towns of Baldock and Royston and has great access to the area. Within a short drive of the site, there are a number of visitor attractions, including Wimpole Hall (a National Trust Property) and Imperial War Museum Duxford. While we didn’t visit these of these during our stay , we visited both previously and would highly recommend visits.
During our stay, we travelled 40 minutes south to Cockfosters and took the tube into central London (40 minutes on the Piccadilly Line to Covert Garden).
Revisits
We made a return visit to Ashridge Farm CAMC Site in January 2024, the points that we previously made about this site are still valid and we have no other points to add.
