Our Stay

Visited Kings Orchard in February 2023, we stayed over for the weekend of the NEC Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show.

Location

Kings Orchard Marina is located in Huddlesford just outside Lichfield.

Directions

The below route guidance is based on our own experience, please ensure to plan your route.

From the South leave the A38 signposted Lichfield A5192. At the end of the slip road turn right onto Cappers Lane, follow the road to Park Lane (on the left). Follow Park Lane. Continue under the railway bridge and then over the canal bridge then turn immediately left after the bridge (opposite the Plough Public House) onto Broad Lane. The turning onto the Kings Orchard driveway is approx 1 mile along this road. Turn left onto the Kings Orchard driveway, follow this into the site.

The Site

This is primarily a canal boat marina with a 10 pitch caravan site and a 5 pitch caravan and motorhome club CL.

Each of the caravan site pitches has hardstanding with individual EHU bollard and water tap. The pitches on the CL site also have this but are all grass. There is a facilities block located at the marina office that has two toilet/shower rooms (keys for which are provided when you check in, for a deposit of £20). This key also gives you access to the canel towpath and the toilet and showers in the other block close to the CL site.

In the area

As previously mentioned, this site is primarily a canel boat marina. The marina is connected to the Coventry Canel. Boats are available to hire on a daily basis and for long periods (see the sites website for details).

The city of Lichfield is only 10 minutes away from the site, famous for its three spired cathedral.
