Our Stay
We visited Chapel Lane Caravan and Motorhome Club Campsite during our October 2023 holiday when we attended the NEC Motorhome and Caravan Show. This site is approximately 20 minutes from the NEC Birmingham.
Location
Chapel Lane is located in Wyhall off the A435 near the M42 motorway, to the south of Birmingham in the Midlands.
Directions
The below route guidance is based on information from the site/CAMC and our own experience.
- Leave the M42 at junction 3 onto the A435 dual carriageway towards Birmingham. In 1.25 miles at the roundabout turn left into Middle Lane (signposted Headley Heath, Alvechurch). In 150 yards turn left into Chapel Lane. In 300 yards turn right at the church and then immediately right again into site.
The Site
This site is open February to the end of October (change of season dates for 2023/2024).
There are two facilities blocks on the site both centrally located. Based on visits to other caravan and motorhome club sites, one of these is definitely in need or major remodelling. Signs in the block warned lighting issues in the shower area (no lights working), and it appeared that this also included the extraction system as steam would exit through the door. While the block was very dated and in need of modernisation, it was very clean to the clubs usual standard.
In the area
The Chapel Lane site is ideally located for visiting England’s second city of Birmingham. Various attractions are easily accessible from the site, including Cadbury World and the Black Country Living Museum. There is a transport museum located next to the site.
