Our visit

We visited Trelissick as part of our Summer 2022 tour in Cornwall, (4 miles from Merrose Farm CAMC Site if taking the King Harry Ferry or 18 miles if not).

Trelissick is located on the bank of the River Fal just below Truro and directly next to the King Harry Car Ferry that crosses the river. We enjoyed walking through the beautiful grounds of the house, with stunning views of the river and surrounding countryside.

The National Trust have only recently opened the house to the public and have taken a very different stance to visitors compared to all of the other properties that we have visited. At Treslick, they have three formal rooms that tell some of the story of the house, and the rest of the rooms are open to visitors to enjoy a drink and food from the houses kitchen.

Trelissick Garden is the home of the National Plant Collections of photinias and azaras.
